Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback), her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. In fear of stress, her parents did not want to see performing before turning 18. Perry was a shy teenager and did not act. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends as she moved from Boston University. After graduating Perry went into New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought the actress back to California and she was able to find theatre jobs. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 In 2015, she appeared alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning Drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, she played an recurring role in The ABC drama about politics Scandal with her father. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. Despite her family link to the character she received the role through an audition.
